Our DIR-Oriented Open Water Course blends the core principles of PADI Open Water Diver training with the streamlined efficiency and team-based philosophy of Doing It Right (DIR) diving. Unlike traditional courses, ours is not run on a set schedule—we start each course on an individual basis, allowing for a personalized learning experience tailored to your needs.

Regardless of experience level, all divers begin with a pool session, which serves as a baseline for building foundational skills. Here, you'll develop neutral buoyancy, proper trim, and effective propulsion techniques while becoming comfortable with a standardized backplate and wing BCD and long-hose regulator configuration. From there, we progress to open water dives along Cape Town’s Southern Peninsula, where you’ll refine your skills in real-world conditions.

This course goes beyond the basics, emphasizing situational awareness, team diving, and advanced gas management, ensuring you emerge as a confident, capable diver. Whether you’re looking to explore Cape Town’s stunning kelp forests, shipwrecks, or eventually move into technical diving, this program lays the perfect foundation for a lifetime of safe, efficient diving.
